Most of my individual coaching falls into the following categories:

  • Artistic and Expressive Development. Performing artists seeking to engage their artistic growth and explore new areas of expression will benefit from this coaching. Depending on your goals we will use voicework and embodiment coaching to explore how to get grounded in the body, connect to material emotionally, relax and release tension, find support in the body and ground, discover sources of personal inspiration, and experience the role that dreams, spirit, mystery and nature may play in our expressive process.

  • Character Development and Body-Mind Awareness. In this area of focus, actors and singers will find cutting-edge approaches for developing and connecting to the characters they portray. We will use tools from Body-Mind Centering, Somatic Psychology, experiential anatomy, and movement processes that explore the Jungian process of active imagination to explore how deep levels of embodiment and awareness give us the foundation of a character in the body. We will also explore which body systems and movement patterns are “home” and which are unfamiliar and needing to be developed for your full range of expression to be available to you.

  • Peformance Preparation. Are you ready for your closeup? This level of coaching is for those artists wanting to work on performance-specific material. Over a period of several sessions, using material you bring in or develop in session (monologues, songs, poetry, music, etc), we will explore the foundation of your connection to the material, try different approaches to it, refine and practice your chosen approach, and develop pre-performance grounding and characterization methods to help you be completely ready to shine when it’s time to press record, raise the curtain, or hear the word “action!”

  • Creative Vision Questing. A powerful and organic process for those needing help jumpstarting their creative process, this service uses a four-part model I developed based on the Native American medicine wheel and the cycle of seasons, among other sources. Through a process of grounding in the body and opening to the present moment, I will help you connect to yourself and your creative question, allowing the body-mind’s natural impulses and insights to lead you on a journey to find and follow the expressive thread that leads to new intuition and directions in your visioning process. This process can use visualization, voicework, active imagination, movement, journaling, and voice dialogue, and is an exciting adventure into the unknown.
